Yasushi Watanabe is a professor at Keio University in Japan. He earned a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology at Harvard University with a thesis on "Nurturing a context: the logic of individualism and the negotiation of the familial sphere in the United States"〔(WorldCat )〕 After a post-doctoral research at Cambridge and Oxford Universities, he joined Keio University's Faculty of Environment and Information Studies and Graduate School of Media and Governance in 1999. He attained the rank of full Professor, and is a specialist on cultural policy, cultural diplomacy, and American studies. During the 2003-04 academic years, he was a recipient of an Abe Fellowship, which he held at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. He was awarded a Japan Academy Medal in 2005. He served as a Fellow at Downing College, Cambridge in 2007. ==Works==
